ManagePackageImportPackage

    ManagePackageImportPackage

    operating system - Windows
version of ATutor - version 1.5.3.2
    copies of error messages -
    "The following errors occurred:
    Problem with Package Directory."
web browser being used - MS IE
    and anything else relevant -
    Java 1.5 (i.e. JRE 1.5) installed
    Module for SCORM enabled

I tried importing a SCORM package from a vendor, and I got this error message. I tried downloading a similar file from the ATutor website, and tried importing it, and I got the same message.
I must be doing something wrong, but I don'r know what. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Re: Manage>Package>ImportPackage

Does the "sco" directory exist, and it it writable?

If not, create it in the ATutor root directory.

    Re: Manage>Package>ImportPackage

    Greg,

Thanks for the help. That directory wasn't write-able, so we changed it. Now the package runs, but we are getting some Java error messages. The vendor who is supplying the SCORM is researching.

    Thanks again!
    Dan

    Re: Manage>Package>ImportPackage

The vendor fixed his packaging. I have another question now, however, and that is, if I am logged into the course as an instructor, I can go to the Manage > Package page and see the Package. I can click it, and it opens and works.
If I login as a student, I can't see that package anywhere. How do I make it accessible for the students?
    Regards, Dan

    Re: Manage>Package>ImportPackage

Have you turned on Packages under Manage>Student Tools?

    Re: Manage>Package>ImportPackage

    That fixed it. Thanks!
