Playing Flash movies

    Playing Flash movies

I have ATutor 1.5.3.2 running on Apache 2.0.55, MySQL 5.0.15, PHP 5.0.5. I also have a flash movie, when it runs on my PC I see
play and stop buttons, but when it runs on ATutor platform these buttons are disappeared. Do we need to install a flash server for serving flash movies?

    Re: Playing Flash movies !

Flash should work fine in ATutor.

Are you perhaps missing some files associated with the flash?

I associated all necessary files: example.swf, example.fla, and ClearOverPlaySeekMute.swf (this file is used for play and stop controls). All those files are stored in the same folder in ATutor.

Be sure the paths to those files within your flash is correct. If they are hard coded into the flash, you many want to try including them as PARAMs in the HTML used to display the flash.

If you want to zip up your movie and attach it here, we'll take a look.

    Here you are.

Please try to view "credits.html", you win see play and stop controls, then try to include all of those files in ATutor, you must not see play and stop controls yet.

By the way, I would like to ask more about how to use PHP to interact with this kind of flash movie, for instance whenever the user stops the movie, the system will provide him or her with a hint or something like that.

    Many thanks.

    Re: Playing Flash movies !

I can't make the flash work at all, in ATutor or not. And can't unzip to try it on a windows system.

Have a look at the following for info on PHP & Flash.

It may sound odd but did you check the flash versions as this may also led to that problem. Check whether the system from where you are running atutor. May be i am sounding odd but just trying to help out.

    Re: Playing Flash movies !

Thank all of you. The way I did was to add some control buttons to the flash file by myself and it worked.
