    activating user contributed notes

    Things to describe:
    operating system - Linux 2.4.29
    version of ATutor - 1.52
    versions of php - 4.3.11
    version of mysq l - 4.0.23a
    webserver & version - Apache 1.3

I have been trying to activate User Contributed Handbook Notes, but it keeps jumping back to disabled.

This would be a great feature for what I want to do, just need some help getting it going.

Do I need to create a new folder somewhere and assign rights?

System preferences saved successfully. Does display each time I try, but it remains disabled.

    Re: activating user contributed notes

There is a bug in 1.5.2. you can add the following line

    $_config_defaults['user_notes'] = 0;

to constants.inc.php but still the admin login to handbook is not working.

We'll address the problem soon, for the 1.5.3 release.

    Re: activating user contributed notes

Info same as above, except just upgraded ATutor to 1.53

Probably something real easy and I am just overlooking the button or info in the documentation. But I can not seem to get User Contributed Notes to display on any pages.

In administration I do have User Contributed Handbook Notes activated.

Do not see how to activate it for a certain course in Admin or Instructor management.

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

    Re: activating user contributed notes

It seems to be working ok for us. Try the demo site. When enabled, an Add Note link should appear to the bottom right of handbook pages.

It's not a course tool, but rather a system wide tool. There isn't a way to make handbook notes course specific.
