    Access management

    Hi.

I'm new to ATutor, so please forgive me if I've overlooked something.

I'm developping an ATutor website atm. Most courses are free, but some must be paid for. Payment is not a problem, but it seems I can't give someone the role 'Premium User' or something, indicating they can also go to paid courses. It should also be possible to auto-update the permission (given from a redirect page generated upon payment).

is there any posibility within ATutor to do this? If not, I'll just have to develop my own little tutoring system, which is a waste of my time actually.

    yours, Martijn

in Manage>Properties set your paid courses to be Private. Then enroll your Premium Users in those courses. You can also make course Private when you create them.

re: auto-update, you'd need to write a script that checks you ecommerce program for payments. There isn't such a tool currently. An ecommerce module would be a nice feature for someone to create.

greg, thanks. I can write that script, that won't be a problem.

Perhaps I'll write an e-commerce plugin, if I've got the time.

I've answered to quickly. How does one set somebody as a Premium User?

    Re: Access management

There is no concept of a "premium user" in ATutor, or other LMSs as far as I know.

After you've made the so called premium courses private, you can enroll your paid clients in those courses to give them premium access.
