    file owner apache

    Hi,

I guess this was already discussed: I am using webspace at my provider's webserver.

When I import a theme (and at some other action) to atutor, than the new file owner is the webserver - and not me!

That means I cannot edit or delete this files anymore.

    Is there a workaround?

    Re: file owner: apache

Only the root user can delete theme directories. You can move the theme directory as a regular user, if you need to relocate it.

    Re: file owner: apache

It wouldbe a nice feature to tell ATUTOR which user to take to save files. So I could modify my files on the webspace providers webspace....

Thanks for you help and answering all these requests. That's a great job, you are doing!

I am not sure what you mean "..which user to take" or "... modify my files in the webspace provider's webspace"

    Re: file owner: apache

    Hi Greg,
    sorry for my not-so-well English.

    What I meant was:

I have got a user (e.g. Client123), which I use to log into my webspace system.
If I upload a file (e.g. ATUTOR System files), then the file owner is Client123.

But if I upload a theme using the ATUTOR functionality then the file owner is not Client123, but APACHE.

Since I do not have a password for APACHE I cannot alter or delete the files.

My suggestion is that ATUTOR offers a configuration to tell ATUTOR, which user (e.g. Client123 instead of APACHE) is use to write the file to the webservers discspace.

    More clear?

    Regards
    Alex

Yes, more clear, thank you. We will look into it for a future release.
