    Cant view exported content

    Hi,

    I'm using the instructor demo ID to test the features/functionality of ATutor. I've created a sample course and added a few content files. I've exported the whole course to viewed offline. The only file I can see after extracting the zip file is the ims file. The instruction in the documentation is for me to open index.html but the file doesn't even exist in the zip file. Can someone explain to me why? Thanks.

    As far as I can tell, exporting of content work as it should. You will need to provide enought detail so we can reproduce the problem. What sample course are you talking about?

    I tried with an existing demo course called 'Computer Science'. I chose to export the entire course & save Computer_Science_ims.zip (default file name) onto my desktop. I extracted the zip file using PowerDesk and the only file extracted was Computer_Science_ims.

    What did I do wrong?

    The packages are fine.

    Its your zip utility that is the problem. Try using a different one.

    Which zip utility would you recommend? I've tried with 2 of them, PowerDesk & WinZip. PowerDesk extracts only one file, which is Computer_Science_ims. WinZip gives me an error message 'Cannot open file; it does not appear to be a valid archive'.

    I am guessing you are using Windows XP pro, in which case you will have problems unzipping ATutor files using Winzip. It seems to be a Window issue that we have not been able to create a workaround for. You could try WinRAR, though I'm not sure it will work either on XP pro.

    I'm sorry for not providing the details earlier on but I'm not using Win XP Pro. Mine is Win 2000 SP4. I've tried extracting the zip file using WinRar and it also gives me the same result as WinZip does - only Computer_Science_ims is extracted.

    When you choose to export a content package, what's the default filename you would get? It's normally the name of the course with '_ims' appended to it right?

    I've also tried exporting a single content page and when I extract the zip file, I only get the ims file. When I double-click on the zip, what I can see in the zip is also only the ims file. I'm getting more confused now. Is there other any other setting that I have to do, e.g. my browser settings, to make it work?

    Thanks. I'd appreciate it if this could be solved soon because I'm thinking of using ATutor for my organization. Thanks again.
