Help me with SCORM please
Hello! I'm still finding my feet with ATutor, but I'm having problems with SCORM. Right now I'm testing ATutor on a local environment, but in some months I'll have to go live with it for a client, so I'd really appreciate any help.
I know that ATutor has a SCORM RTE since version 1.5, and I'm using 1.5.1, but I still cannot see SCORM content as I should. I downloaded the 'Sample SCOs' available from ATutor's download page, then I went to:
manage->content->Import/Export Content
and tried importing them. I received an error telling me:
The following errors occurred:
* The file exceeded the maximum allowable size limit of 2M.
but when logged in as admin I'd already raised the course maximum file size to 50 MB: why do I get this error? What do I need to do to import files bigger than 2M?
Then I tried importing the only sample under 2M, and this time I thought it worked, since it imported it just fine and added it at exactly the place I wanted in the navigation. But when I click on it, I can only see badly formatted lines, and no 'Start' button, while if I unzip the file and try it on my local machineI see a nicely formatted page and a start button that allows me to access course pages with tests.
Since importing the sample SCO under 'content' didn't work, I tried importing it as package, from: manage->packages, but this time when I click the sample SCO's name I either get a 'Sorry, LiveConnect doesn't work' JavaScript error (in Firefox) or nothing happens at all (Safari).
This makes me suspect something is wrong with the SCORM RTE, but what did I miss? As admin, under system preferences I enabled the voice that says:
Enable the SCORM 1.2 RTE
Did I miss something? What do I need to do to get the RTE working, do I need to download an extra not included in the 1.5.1 default installation? Also, once the RTE is working, will I be able to view SCORM content directly in the content, or will I have to go to packages to see it?
Also, I'm a bit unclear on how ATutor and the SCORM course interact. Is it possible to track session time and score for each user?
More info on my installation:
operating system - MacOS X
version of ATutor - 1.5.1
versions of php - 4.3.10
version of mysql - 4.1.10
webserver & version - run on localhost
web browser being used - Firefox 1.0, Safari 1.2
If anybody could help me, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Antonio
