    Try Upgrading

We do not have any ATutor 1.4 installations left running so we can not duplicate the problem some effort. You should upgrade to version 1.5.1, which should fix all of the above.

    changed to atutor 1.5.1

    Things to describe:
    operating system - WINXP

    Same problem

I am having the same problem. Have you figured anything out?

  • 2005-09-09 08:17:16

    Unable to reproduce

I am unable to reproduce this problem. After creating an open ended test with the settings you have described, the submission is available for marking.

Make sure the Anonymous setting is set to "no".

    Confirmed

I have confirmed the problem, but I can not tell you why it is happening.

I can not reproduce the problem on any other system, so I might guess that the changes you have made to ATutor are interfering with test functionality. Restore your system back to the original and see if that helps: removing the flash header, and removing the contents listed at the top of each page. Or, install a fresh version of ATutor and see if the problem continues.

There are other issues with your system. I am unable to investigate because the support system info screen we use to troubleshoot can not be opened include/info.php. It is a phpinfo page.

Save problem of missing submission list

I do have the very same problem:

A test is submitted by 4 peoples and I can't see one of them in the submission list.

I get the following status for the filter
    Marked (0) Unmarked (4) All (4)

and nothing in the following list.

If I choose "Unmarked" and presse "filter", I get the following status, which is anormal:
    Marked (4) Unmarked () All (4)

    and nothing behind.

    Things to describe:
operating system - Win2KServer for the client
version of ATutor -1.5.1 with thelast security patch (same problem without as may be expected)
    versions of php - 4.3.11
    version of mysq l - 3.23.58
    webserver & version - Apache 2.0 Handler
copies of error messages - ??
changes to default settings - None, except new theme added, removed since without changed
web browser being used - FF 1.0.6, IE 6.0
and anything else relevant - Sunny day... ;-)

i try anonymous first while waiting

jpm61 Subject: Trouble with Submitting Questions for Test
If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so I would also like to know. I'm using the exact system that jsullinger is, and when I go to view test submissions, I get the same errors. If I change to anonymous, no errors. Problem is, I have no idea whose test I'm grading.

kkzone : i try use this solution first but still not as proper way like jpm61 say no idea whose test i'm grading. at least instructor know who's answer and recognize that student answering the question.

    No luck with a solution

The anonymous "solution" is actually a test to see if it is the MySQL CAST() function as Joel described, is the problem. Apparently that's not the problem in your case.

Joel, Heidi and myself have all spent many hours each trying to reproduce the problem on a variety of different systems, without any luck. Tests work fine on all our systems.

All I can suggest is that you move off the Winxp server you are using and use a Linux/Unix system. Window XP as a server leaves much to be desired. Problems such as those described here are almost inevitable reported by Windows users. That said though, we've tried to reproduce the problem ourselves on Winxp pro & home, and Win 2000. Everything works fine for us.

We are not going to be able to put more time into trying to track down the problem. We hope someone who is actually experiencing the test submissions problem will take on trying to find the solution themselves. And, post the solution here.

    MySQL version -
    Webserver & version -siteground.com
    Copies of error messages -
    Changes to default settings -
    Web browser being used -
    ...and anything else relevant -

I have a problem with my test&survey; The status is always PENDING. I checked the time zone and the time seems different, I corrected the time but it is still the same thing.

Re: i try anonymous first while waiting

You need to set the start time in the test's properties to some time in the past to have the test appear. It will remain pending until the start time arrives.

Okay, that has been done, but I still discovered that after creating two question in the question bank, the enrolled student can't see it. It is complaining of QUESTIONS NOT FOUND.

Re: i try anonymous first while waiting

Once a question is added to the question bank it then needs to be added to a test. Tests and questions initially are created separately.

If there is an actual problem, please provide enough information so we can reproduce the problem, including step by step details. You might try reproducing the problem yourself on our demo site. If you can reproduce the problem there, we're more likely to investigate further
