XPIIS fresh install cant login

    XPIIS fresh install cant login

    Just completed a new 1.4.3 install on a PC running XP and IIS, all went fine, but when I try to login it fails. IE gives "The page cannot be displayed", Firefox gives "The connection to localhost has terminated unexpectedly. Some data may have been transferred".

    The first install I did as directed and made the config.inc.php file read-only, the second install I didn't, but the results were the same in both cases.

    Resulotion or suggestions where to start looking?

    Make sure your web server can load index.php files.

    Yep, that's there. The whole installation went fine, all pages displayed/functioned properly. It was only after install that things have broken down. The login page opens fine, but when you try and supply credentials to get into the site it gives those errors I mentioned.

    It's as if the installation processed messed up something either about how IIS is dealing with the site, or it didn't do something quite right with the site which is causing the errors.

    Try Apache

    We can't help much with IIS configuration, which sounds like the problem. Try using Apache instead. On Windows try installing Easyphp, available from our downloads page.
