    Content directory

Installation program suggests, as security measure, that the content directory should be placed outside of Atutor installation.
    I didn't (two month ago).
What kind of problems (or risks) can I expect from placing the directory inside my Atutor installation?
Is it possible to move it after the installation?
If yes, how can I do?

    operating system - Linux
    version of ATutor - 1.4.3
    versions of php - 4.3.10
    version of mysq l - 4.0.22
    webserver & version - apache 1.3.3
changes to default settings - no
web browser being used - explorer 6.0

    move it then edit config.inc.php

Because the content directory is writable, others could potentially write or upload files to that directory, and get content from course content directories without having to log into the system.

Move the directory then edit the include/config.inc.php file to point the path defined for AT_CONTENT_DIR to the new location.

    Moving conten directory

you cannot move files usint FTP. you will have to download the files then upload them to the new location. you MUST set the correct permissions on that directory and on ALL the files you upload, otherwise you will not be able to use them.

The best way is to login to your server using SSH and either move or copy the files.
