I cannot install Atutor 1.4.3 as I continue to get an "Unable to cannect to database server" error message on step 2. I have set the user permissions in Mysql to allow all operations and I am spelling the user name and password correctly. Hopefully someone can help so I can install this software.

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:

    versions of php -
    version of mysq l -
    webserver & version -
    copies of error messages -
    changes to default settings -
    web browser being used -
    and anything else relevant -
    :P i lost it:
how to use your powerful support.
I can't find the site "My courses".
i even don't know what is "operating system".
can i get help for a complete beginner?

    re; Error

I was able to get past this error by going into Mysql and removing the password from the test user I was using to try this out.

I was able to complete the installation but now I cannot see the content I add. I\'m thinking this is a problem with PHP or Apache because when I click on the link to the content I created in the Global Menu I go to the directory structure in the / directory.

Now to investigate that rabbit hole

    Edit Apache httpd.conf

You are missing index.php as a value for DirectoryIndex in Apache's httpd.conf

    e.g.
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

Double check your MySQL user/pass. Typing it wrong is usually what that eror message usually means.
