    Use the backups tool

See the Instructor Tools, then Backup Manager.

Create a backup. Download it from site #1. Go to the Backup Manager on site #2. Upload the site #1 backup to site #2. Restore the backup on site #2.

You can also move courses this way as the admin user.

See the HowTo course for details:

    Re: Use the backups tool

When I back up and restore a course, much of the content does not get restored. For example, Links are never restored. Is this intended? Is there a way to restore all of the content within a course?

    Re: Use the backups tool

I'm unable to reproduce the problem. Links seem to restore okay on our systems, using the current version of ATutor.

    Re: Use the backups tool

Thanks for the reply Greg. In checking all of the courses, I find that our problem is not consistent. There are only two courses having links at the moment, and I am trying to backup one of these courses and move it to another environment. I am using the Backup tool to create and download the back up. The size of the backup is 437kb, and in this case the links are not present when the course is restored. Inside the back up file, there is not a links.csv file either.

We are using 1.5.3.3 at the moment because the two of the language packs that we use, Arabic and Russian, are not complete.

    Things to describe:
    operating system - Mac osx
    version of ATutor - 1.5.3.3
    versions of php -5.1.4
    version of mysq l -5.0.13
    webserver & version -1.3.33
    copies of error messages -
    changes to default settings -
    web browser being used -
    and anything else relevant -

    Thanks,
    Josh

    Re: Use the backups tool

Perhaps it is related to the language being displayed when the backups are creates, or perhaps restored. Can you determine when the problem is occuring? Does it work okay if your export while displaying English? Arabic? Russian?

I'd also suggest upgrading to 1.5.4.
