Importing SCORM 12 ELearning Modules

    Importing SCORM 12 ELearning Modules

I am using ATutor on a Linux Box, specs are as follows:

    Apache 1.3+
    PHP 4.3.9
    MySQL 5.23.58

    ATutor version 1.4.3

    IE v.6.0+

I have made no changes to the default settings, as I am trying this LMS out for future deployment.

I have used Macromedia Captivate (previously RoboDemo) to generate SCORM compliant module/zip files with the IMS/SCORM manifest. ATutor uploads and inserts the module into the course and reads the manifest (the manifest displays in the Global Menu as designed in Captivate), however the content does not display. I get Java script variable errors from the browser such as, intIntervalSecs undefined.

None the less, I decided to upload the .swf file and embed the <object> into the course via the html editor, however the <embed src> or the <param value> tags are either incorrect or are not pointing to the swf file. I used the directory provided by the File Manager and all I get when I view the module is a blank screen or the browser times out.

    So, I have two problems:

    1) I cannot import SCORM modules from Macormedia Captivate or TurboDemo (Captivate was used for this explanation).

    2) I cannot embed .swf files using the HTML editor into a course.

I am new to ATutor so if I am confused as to the process, I apologize. None the less, what am I doing wrong?

    Importing SCORM 1.2 E-Learning Modules

As a follow up I am having another problem:

    - If I insert a link to the file using the File Manager, even that does not work...

    Importing SCORM 1.2 E-Learning Modules

Well, I figured out what the problem is:

The HTML code imported from the package is incomplete. ATutor seems to only import HTML/javascript, etc... that is in the <body> of the HTML created wit the package and does not import any of the <head> content. Is this a bug? Ha, Ha I bet I'm the fool who didn't research the forum. Sorry to waste anyone's time.

I can import the modules now.

    Not SCOs

I'd guess you are trying to import a SCO rather than a content package. You can import the content package part of the SCO (between the body tags) but not the functionality contained in the javascript within the head of SCO pages.

Yes, ATutor does strip away anything outside the body tags.
