You must login to use this section

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

Things to describe: Operating system ATutor is installed on - 2008R2
    ATutor version -2.2.1
    Patch #s applied -n/a
    ATutor theme name -Default
    PHP version -5.3.9
    MySQL version -5.6.26
    Webserver & version -IIS7
Copies of error messages -No error message
Changes to default settings - tried a couple themes, reverted to default
    Web browser being used - f/F latest/ IE 10

    So, today, out of nowhere...
I added a course and now when I'm sitting on the HOME page, I see nothing except:
"You must login to use this section."
and access to my PUBLIC courses is now shut off.
The only thing that seems to clear this up is a cache dump of the browser.
    This happens in Windows/firefox(latest),IE 10
    and
    Linux Mint/firefox

There seems to be some random issue happening where I'm all of a sudden forced to login...
Public access to the courses just...goes away!?

I made NO system changes since working before today...

    ugh...
    Help!

    Thanks,
    Rich

Re: You must login to use this section.

Are you self-hosted or using a service provider?

Is there an opportunity to use Apache instead of IIS? IIS has always been a bit "flaky" with PHP.

Are you able to upgrade PHP to a more current version of 5.5*,

Strange that those would just start happening. It sounds a lot like a cookie or session issue.

Have a look though the PHP error logs and see if there are any clues there.

Re: You must login to use this section.

    Hi Greg,
    to answer your questions:
**Are you self-hosted or using a service provider? SELF HOSTED
**Is there an opportunity to use Apache instead of IIS? YES
IIS has always been a bit "flaky" with PHP.

**Are you able to upgrade PHP to a more current version of 5.5? TRIED and FAILED MISRERABLY...(PHP apps all bombed when I tried to upgrade...reverted back to 5.3.x)

But now I get an error when I try & just modify any course.
I'm bailing on aTutor on Windows, which really sux..I had high hopes.
I may try it on Linux...

    Thanks,
    rich
