    Cannot connect to mysql

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on - line
    ATutor version - 2.2.1
    Patch #s applied - none
    ATutor theme name -
    PHP version -
    MySQL version -
    Webserver & version -
    Copies of error messages -
    Changes to default settings -
    Web browser being used -

I'm at Siteground on cpanel. I don't know the software versions but they are up to date.

I tried installing 2.2.1 first as an upgrade, then as a new installation. This is the screen I see on the first pass at the installation.

Warning: mysqli::mysqli(): (28000/1045): Access denied for user 'isensei7_isensei'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/isensei7/public_html/include/lib/mysql_connect.inc.php on line 18

Warning: mysqli::set_charset(): Couldn't fetch mysqli in /home/isensei7/public_html/include/lib/mysql_connect.inc.php on line 20

Warning: mysqli::query(): Couldn't fetch mysqli in /home/isensei7/public_html/include/lib/mysql_connect.inc.php on line 305

Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_assoc() on a non-object in /home/isensei7/public_html/include/lib/mysql_connect.inc.php on line 306

I cannot get any farther. I have never had this problem before, but I have gone the whole school year without database access to my quizzes. That has been a major pain in the buttress.

I know you can't reproduce it on your server, but you might try it on a commercial cpanel server. I am sure you will find it does not work.

    Re: Cannot connect to mysql

Make sure there isn't a backslash (i.e. an escape character) in the mysql username or password.
