    Allow students to upload files in File Storage Main course folder

    Hi everyone :)

    is it possible to enable students in specific courses to upload files in "file storage"?

    (main course directory).

    We've just tried all the options available but didn't find the possibility.

    More details:
    Operating system ATutor is installed on - Linux
    ATutor version - 1.6.4
    PHP version - 5.4.33
    MySQL version - 5.6.22
    Webserver & version - Linux 2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.x86_64

    If you mean File Manager, you can give students file manager privileges by slecting the student and pressing the Privileges button in the Enrollment manager.

    File storage is for file sharing between members of a course, File Manager is for managing course specific files.

    Dear Greg,

    we've tried to follow your clear instructions but, as result, the student can only upload files in "personal files" not in course specific one....

    There's a way to change it, in order to allow students to upload course-shared files?

    Students can't upload to the course files unless you give them File Manager privileges, which could be dangerous as they can also delete files. This provilege is typically given to teaching assistants or co-instructors.


    You probably want to create a group (Manage>Groups), perhaps adding all the students to it, and make the File Storage tool available to the group.
