I imported a course created with atutor 1.2 into the new software 1.4.1, the migration was successful but not for the glossary: in fact i found very many false entries (in general duplicated items) that I had to delete manually

What do you mean by very many false entries? We've never heard of this happening before. Do you have examples?
Did you choose append to, or replace content, when you imported the backup
Glossary item backup was broken in 1.2. Upgrading from 1.2 to 1.4+ would maintain your glossary. Moving content from 1.2 to 1.4+, you will loose the glossary.

you can check the glossary on the old course and the new one and see what happened; I chose to replace the content into an empty new course created on the server
