  Tests not visible to student

  Hi,
  
  Things to describe:
  Operating system ATutor is installed on - Windows Server (GoDaddy Windows hosting plan)
  ATutor version - 2.1.1
  Patch #s applied - ?
  ATutor theme name - default
  PHP version - 5.0
  MySQL version - 5.0
  Webserver & version - IIS 7
  Copies of error messages - none
  Changes to default settings - none
  Web browser being used - Mozilla
  ...and anything else relevant -
  
  Created a series of tests as instructor for the course.
  When logged in as student some tests do not appear.
  
  Help!

  If it is just some of the tests not showing up, my guess is the release date has not been set. I a test's properties, set the date to start in the past, and end in the distant future.

  The first thing I did was to change the start date to January 1 2013 and the end date to January 1 2016.
  
  No change.
  
  How is the tests result set (SQL) for the student different from the instructor?
  
  I don't see why it shouldn't work.
  This is a show stopper for me.

  The next possibility is content was copy and pasted from a word processed document. It is common for applications like Word to insert invisible characters that break content.
  
  You can paste questions into a plain text editor to remove those characters, use the paste from word feature in the WYSIWYG editor, or type questions in manually.
  
  Try your questions on the demo site, and see if they work there.

  Another possibility is IIS. If you can setup on an Apache Webserver, it runs PHP/ATutor more effectively.

  IIS is not an option, I'm afraid.
  As for special characters, I think you may be on to something... and also like those slanted apostrophes etc.
  If that fails, I'll try recreating the test.

  Mystery solved... The tests don't appear if they don't contain questions.
  
  In my haste to grind out the tests, I missed two of the tests.
  
  Sorry to waste your time.
  
  ATutor is a great product, by the way.
