Moving host and upgrading

    Moving host and upgrading

    Good morning,
We are moving our site to a new host. We are currently using an old version of ATutor (v1.6.1) and see this as an opportunity to bring everything up-to-date. We need to retain the existing courses that we have. What is the best way to go about upgrading ATutor and transferring the courses to the new server?

Old server OS was linux - new server will be also be linux with latest versions of php and mysql

    Cheers
    Jim

    Re: Moving host and upgrading

    The upgrade instruction: http://atutor.ca/atutor/docs/installation.php#upgrade

You may also like to go through the latest system requirement: http://atutor.ca/atutor/docs/requirements.php

Another approach is to install a new 2.1.1 and transfer all the courses over using course backup.

How to backup courses as an admin:
Go to "courses" tab -> select a course -> click "view" button -> "manage" tab -> click "create" link in the backups section -> follow instructions on the page.
