  at the beginning

  I am a very beginner. please let me know: when i rent only a space on a server, can I also use Atutot LMS ? Do I have to download php and aTutor on my machine - and then to transfer the ready sites via ftp on my server? What do I have to configure direct on the server - because I dont know if I have permission, because I rented only space...

  PHP and MySQL must be installed on your service provider's server you are renting space on. Most have this support nowadays.
  
  Ask your service provider for a mysql account. Once it has been setup, upload ATutor into your home directory, unpack it as instructed in the installation instructions, then follow the rest of the installation instructions.
