    content directory

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on - windows 7 home prem
ATutor version - newest, just downloaded
Patch #s applied - none that i know of
    ATutor theme name -
    PHP version - latest
    MySQL version - latest
    Webserver & version -
Copies of error messages - attached
    Changes to default settings -
Web browser being used - latest firefox
...and anything else relevant - i did create the content directory in /public_html/ATutor/content and tried continuing the installation with and without the "public_html" section... still nothing. I have read these posts for hours and tried everything. Tried creating the getcwd document... nothing... just a blank screen... I see this is an issue going back for years... I am at a lost and have no idea where to go from here. any help would be so much appreciated. I am not a programmer so If you suggest code... please tell me what to do with it. Please help and thank you. Tim

    Re: content directory

Its difficult to say what the problem is. You could try reviewing the php error log to see if there are any hints there.

Start by using a Windows path if ATutor is installed on Windows, as described above the content directory form field shown in your screenshot. It should have a C:\ before it (or another disk if appropriate), and point to the ...public_html/ATutor/content (with the ... replaced by the path to public_html, whatever that may be on your system)

Perhaps a file was corrupted. Try a fresh download and install again.

There might be a an issue with the system ATutor is being installed on. Try installing on a different system.

If you are not getting any output from the getcwd() file, then maybe your PHP installation is not functioning properly.

There are many thousands of installs of this version, without any problem, so its likely something specific to the system you are using. Linux as a server should be more stable than Windows, though there have not been any problems reported by Windows users. But, you might try a Linux installation.

Well, i figured out that I just wasnt putting the file location string down right. it was supposed to be: /home/kisom/public_html/ATutor/content

so I did that... and success! clicked next... everything looked good then I got the "success message" with the "log in" button.... clicked on log in... and got this....

(look at attached pic to see error message)

I have no clue what to do now..... Please advise with simple directions... Thanks so much! Tim

    Re: content directory

My apologies... It seems to be successful and working fine now.

I just ignored that error... closed my browser... went back to the atutor site I just installed... and wahlah... I am logged in and ready to go!

    Thanks for your help!
