Want to run same course in two concurrent sessions

Want to run same course in two concurrent sessions

Operating system ATutor is installed on - Linux 2.6.34.6
    ATutor version - 1.6.4.
    Patch #s applied - unknown
ATutor theme name - ATutor Classic
    PHP version - 5.2.14
    MySQL version - 5.1.52
    Webserver & version - unknown
Copies of error messages - none
Changes to default settings - none
Web browser being used - IE

I'm loving ATutor for my classes and starting to get more students. I'm hoping that soon, I'll have students starting each month, but this will mean that sessions will overlap. I want each session to be distinct with no overlap, so I was thinking of making a copy of my class. Is there an easy way to do this or do I need to create the class as though it was a new one? Thank you.

(Pretty soon I'll get up my nerve to try to update my version of ATutor.:D )

Create a backup of the first session, then create a new course and the backup should be there, at the bottom of the screen, that you can use to populate the new one.

You can also upload a backup and restore it via Manage>Backups.

Thank you for your quick reply, Greg. This is what I kind of figured I'd need to do. Take care and have a great day!

Re: Want to run same course in two concurrent sessions

Wouldn't it be better to use the Groups feature to create different groups within your existing course?

That way you don't have to manage two sets of all of your material to make sure they don't get out of synch??
