Tests visibility

    Tests visibility

    Is this possible?

I have 15 tests in one course. I want each test to be a prerequisite before the student can even VIEW the next test. All of my content is set this way, but for each content section at the end is a test. Right now the student can view and take the test. This is not what I want. I want the student to have to complete each test, in sequence, before being allowed to proceed to the next.

Also, if I allow "My Tests & Surveys" to be visible they can take the final exam without having taken the prerequisite tests.

If anyone knows how I can set it up like I described above please let me know.

    Re: Tests - visibility

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on -
    ATutor version -
    Patch #s applied -
    ATutor theme name -
    PHP version -
    MySQL version -
    Webserver & version -
    Copies of error messages -
    Changes to default settings -
    Web browser being used -
    ...and anything else relevant -

    Re: Tests - visibility

If you are using 1.6.4 or greater, you can setup prerequisite tests for content folders. Put each of your tests in a folder. Turn off Tests & Surveys to remove other access to tests.

    Re: Tests - visibility

I have done this exact thing. Problem is, the test is viewable in the folder. The content is not viewable, but the test is...

    Re: Tests - visibility

What I am getting at is that the student may not be able to view the content page, but the test is visible to the student, and the student can skip all of the pre-exam quizzes and just take the exam.

I want to set each quiz as a prerequisite before the student is even allowed to take the next quiz.

Example is the first quiz does not have a prerequisite, however in order to view/take the second quiz, one must take and pass the first quiz. Then in order to view/take the third quiz, quizzes one and two must have been taken and passed.

Again, I understand about setting prerequisites for content, but it does not affect the ability of the student to view and take tests, allowing them to skip tests.

    Re: Tests - visibility

It looks like that might be a bug. Its reported to the bug tracker. We'll investigate and if need to get a patch issued in a day or two.
