Language Import Failed

Hi,

i have made a fresh installation of ATutor 1.4 on win2000AS+easyphp 1.7

i try to import italian language (or others), select file, click import, pop-up starts (but with " unknown KB ").

after a while ATutor say "failed to import language"

tried many times...

wich settings should i check?

thanks

Other uploads

Are you able to upload other files, say through the filemanager?

Has something changed on your system? I gather from your earlier post that you were able to import languages at one time.

make sure the content/import directory is writable.

check

Hi Greg,

- other uploads via filemanager works ok.
- content/import directory is writable.

i've reinstalled everything and i have re-imported languages; now atutor say "import successfully", but at the nex login the laguages list does not appear at the bottom of the home page (or others).

I've seen in the DB via phpmyadmin and in the table "...lang2" i see the languages i've uploaded before.

the only thing is that they do not appear at the bottom of the pages....

Installed on win2000+easyphp1.7.

FOUND! - It seems a cache problem

Hi all,
seems like i have found a solution,

i have made the same installation procedure on another identical machine.

the only difference is that i have disabled tha cache settings... and now everything works fine!

so i came back to the first machine and i've disabled the cache and... even on this installattion the uploaded language (remeber that i can see it in the lang2 table) magically appears on the bottom of the page and works perfectly.

is this a cache dir bug?
i've check the dir and it is writable and full of phpCache* files.

should i disable cache forever?

thanks in advance,
carlo

Cache Path

Caching is really only necessary for high traffic systems so you can safely leave it disabled.

It should work though. Make sure the path to the directory is correct.
