    Apache 2

There's a good chance your problem is Apache 2 related. Apache 2 and php do not work all that well together.

    Try using Apache 1.3.*

    Got it

    Greg,
I went back to MDK 9.1 and removed all instances of Apache2 (with the exception of the com lib) and installed Apache 1.3.x. Changed the Atutor folder ,inc all sub dirs and files, from 775 to 777 and "bingo" went through the intsall no probs. I will now go back and just modify the required (write) forders.
