how to reinstall modules marked as missing

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on - centos 5.2
    ATutor version - 1.6.2
    Patch #s applied -
    ATutor theme name -
    PHP version - 5.1.6
    MySQL version - 5.0.45
    Webserver & version -
    Copies of error messages -
    Changes to default settings -
    Web browser being used -
    ...and anything else relevant -

I have upgraded from 1.5.2 to 1.6.2 and after a while I noticed that assignment, file storage and reading list moudules are marked as missing, when I tried to enable those, the server told me to reinstall. Would you please let me know how to fix this problem, as our students need to upload their file into courses with this modules.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

These are old modules that are now integrated into the ATutor source code.

You just need to re enable them in the Course Tools.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

thanks greg for your reply. but I have tried this matter before with no change. If I want to disable those modules, I get the following error:
"You cannot disable a missing module. To continue managing this module you must first restore its directory"
and if I try to enable those modules nothing will happen. would you please check it out maybe there is some bug.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

Do the folders identified as missing exist.

When you uploaded the new ATutor prior to upgrading, did you do so file-by-file, or did you upload the tar.gz file and unpack it on the server?

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

    yes, those directories are exists.
For upgrading atutor alwayes I get tar.gz from atutor.ca and move my current atutor to atutor-old and try to unpack tar.gz and then upgrade.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

I could solve this problem by changing status of these modules in mysql.
Now I need to know why students can delete files that instructor put on file storage. Please let me know how can I disable "delete" for students in file storage

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

If you upload to the Course Files folder, students can not delete files.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

thanks Greg, but what do you mean by course folder?, do you mean that instructor put his files in file manager? and if so, how can make a link to that file for students to download? Also can student see each other files? I don't want student be able to see each other answers.

Re: how to reinstall modules marked as missing

I assumed you were talking about the File Storage utility. Upload file to the Course File folder.

See the Handbook if you need more details.
