    Safe mode

    Hello!

I've just reached the point where i am through and through with moodle, and found this LCMS and feel i'd really love to give it a go. Unfortunately this E#%#%"#&W#%#"&/&%/ host of mine uses safe mode = on and does not allow me to change php.ini nor .htacess.

Are there any ways to fiddle with the atutor code, to circumvent the settingscheck when installing it? I can live with not uploading anything,as the classes i hold will be of a practical nature.

    Kindet regards,

    Erik

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    MySQL version -
    Webserver & version -
    Copies of error messages -

    ...and anything else relevant -

    Re: Safe mode

You could potentially comment out the safemode check in install/index.php to get ATutor installed, but any functionality in the system that writes to the server would not function. ATutor is not intended to be used with safemode turned on.

    Re: Safe mode

Perhaps incorporating FTP support would be a good idea then. Joomla used that as a work around for safe mode plaqued systems =)

Anywya, i commented out the part you mentioned and it's working now, so thanks! =)

    Re: Safe mode

There are so few systems out there running now in safemode its hard to justify a budget for adding separate FTP support. If someone really wanted it, and wanted to fund its development, we'd add it, but otherwise its not on our list of things to do. It would be much cheaper to find another host that has safemode turned off.

Safemode is really just for overly paranoid ISPs.
