e mail to users fom admin page does not work

If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on - Linux RHE 5.1

    Patch #s applied -
    ATutor theme name - default
    PHP version - 5.2.5
    MySQL version -5.0.67
    Webserver & version - Apache 1.3.37
    Copies of error messages -
    Changes to default settings -

Re: e mail to users fom admin page does not work [SOLVED]

I discovered what is issue. E-mail is not "sent" by ATutor itself. It is sent the underlying E-mail software (i.e. sendmail).
If admin is defined in his/her account with E-mail address that is located on remote computer/server E-mailing software on the server may not be able to access it and thus, not send E-mail message.
E-mail addres should be changed on /home/My Account and in teh list of users including admin's part in admin panel.
In addition, on some servers there are quotas how much mails can be sent at once.
So if your course. does have 50 students and quota is 30 students you may get into trouble.
If you have such a problem please check those two things first.

    Thanks, vedran

Re: e mail to users fom admin page does not work [SOLVED]

Hi, I tested in our system and cannot re-produce the problem. Admin page has no problem sending email to users. So, this report can not be confirmed as a bug.

What wucic suggests could very well be the issues you'd like to check when running into the same problem.
