cant see side menu

  cant see side menu

  I just installed and added a course.
  
  I can't seem to do anything else. I want to add course content. There is a blank space to the left of my course description, and a link above the course description that says, "Hide". I am guessing by the name of the JavaScript link (javascript:toggleToc('side-menu')) that it's supposed to contain the side-menu, but nothing is in the menu.
  
  
  operating system - RedHat Linux
  version of ATutor - 1.6.2
  versions of php - 4.49
  version of mysql - 4.1.22
  webserver & version - Apache/1.3.41 (Unix)

  I haven't heard of the menu not showing up in a fresh install before.
  
  Which theme are you viewing the course in.
  
  Try setting another theme in your Preferences via My Start Page
  
  Try another fresh install if changing the theme doesn;t work. Maybe something broke during installation.
