    Problem with Setting Administration

    Hi Greg!

When I attempt to change options in ATutor Setting Administration> System Preferences> Default Preferences 1) is not at hand 2) is amended theme

    Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on -
    ATutor version - 1.6.2
ATutor theme name - Corporate Blue

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

It seems to be a theme problem, perhaps a missing template.

I've added it to bug tracker. Corporate Blue is a third party theme. If you can manage to fix it yourself, it may be a while before we can get to it.

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

Greg, I have the same problems with all themes.

You know (you may be remember me) that a many number of years that I have the ATutor and I have not ever had installation problems ...

Can I spend some private mail passwords to the administration of the site?

My mastery of English is very bad and maybe the way I express confuse to you. You should see the problem yourself.

Thank you for your attention always very valuable.

We have support tickets available if you need us to login to your system. We have had to limit the free help we offer to the forums.

Are you having the same problem when you try to view Preferences, through My Start Page?

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

GREG: "We have support tickets available if you need us to log in to your system. We have had to limit the free help we offer to the forums."

    MARIO:

It is not a problem of "support" is a problem that something is malfunctioning in ATutor 1.6.2. Never before has happened to me.

The "manager" tries to configure, such as "Show Context Sensitive Links to Handbook > Disable", then "aply", the change does not take place and change the template.

    GREG:
"Are you having the same problem when you try to view Preferences, through My Start Page?"

    MARIO
Worst happens, the template is totally mismatch.

I understand that nothing in life is to be provided "free", but if ATutor now has a policy to charge for the maintenance support, at least asegrurarse that the facilities should function as has been all over the smooth development of ATutor.

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

Unfortunately we must charge from our time outside the forums. We're happy to help you there no charge.

I see no evidence yet that this is a bug. We need to be able to reproduce a problem elsewhere before it becomes a bug.

ATutor default theme works fine everywhere else. It's more likely a broken file, perhaps damaged when it was unzipped.

You can start by replacing the preference files with a fresh copy, and if that does not work, try upgrading again from a fresh download.

    Hi Mario,

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

@Greg with replace /user pref... and /themes/default/users/pref... and delete Theme "Corporate Blue" the problem has been solved in part when it is the Tutor (profesor) who change their preferences in you profile, but when the manager or ATutor make changes in the panel control of ATutor, with any template: no changes are made and change the default theme to ATutor fully dismantled.

@Cindy thank you for your comment, but i do not undeetand it waht patch, in where place ican view it?

@dear friends... yes... my engligh lengiage is more bab that ATutor (smile Greg, please!!!!!!!!)

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

    @Greg,

Yesterday, you have said to me that replace two files (check in your post 2008-12-16 at 19:26); also I have eliminated the theme "Corporate Blue." Now I use "Blumin."

When the instructor make changes "Preference" everything "ok!".
When the "Administrator" select System Preferences > DEFAULT PREFERENCE (ATutor change for Theme "ATutor 1.6.2 (default /)" and no changes are made in either of options Display Settings, Content Settings, Tool Settings, Control or Settings.

Greg, please little patience. Tell me, please, no one is claiming this problem when installed the 1.6.2?

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

    Hi Mario,

What you reported is confirmed a bug in 1.6.2 fresh installation.

Have you tried patch #0003. It has the fix to this bug. Thanks.

    Re: Problem with Setting Administration

    Nice explanation. Thanks, Mario.

Seems something wrong with the file upload here. Can you send an email to me: cindyqi dot li at utoronto dot ca

I will email you the patch.

The message "The personal theme preference has been disabled in favour of theme specific categories." is because on page "System Preference", option "Theme Specific Categories" is set to "enable", set it to "disable" will give back your theme selection box.
