    Remote Content Server

    Hi,

I have installed Atutor in Linux and I want to use Remote content folder. I mean we have another windows based server, which we use for storing content. I want to configure ATutor such a way that ATutor should be able to store the content on that another server directly, without doing manual copy paste.

Could you let us know how to do it?? What are parameters we will need to set on ATutor and also on another server?

    Regards,
    Nilesh

    Hi,

I would also like to know the integration of ATutor with Dell NAS content server. Is it possible to integrate and manage folder level rights on Dell NAS Server using Atutor??

    Regards,
    Nilesh

    Re: Remote Content Server

You can use a commercial product like the Equella repository. See the module.

    Re: Remote Content Server

Not familiar with Dell NAS, but if it support content interoperability standards, it may be compatible with ATutor.

    Re: Remote Content Server

Is there any open source equivalent to "Equella repository" which successfully integrates with ATutor for our needs?

Without LMS tracking (SCORM), in that case is it really an LMS platform?

I am asking because we have invested considerable time to look at the development/customization cycle of Atutor for our needs.

    Appreciate your speedy response.

    with regards,
    Nilesh

    Re: Remote Content Server

There is not an open source repository that I am aware of. Regardless of which system you use, currently you'll need to license repository software.

    Re: Remote Content Server

ok, But do you have any idea how to track the SCORM content?? We need to track the progress of the student for each module and all the content and modules will be created in Captivate so will be imported as SCORM 1.2

    Re: Remote Content Server

There's tracking for students, to keep track of where they are in a packages. Not for instructors to track students progress. Something could probably be created for instructor tracking. The data is stored in the database scorm tables.

Keep in mind that the SCORM module is not ours. It was created by another organization.

    Re: Remote Content Server

Thanks for help. Could you let us know how to contact SCORM module developers? As we have many things to know or to develop on same.

We are looking ATutor for major Elearning Development :) We also looking for modules for Multicasting, broadcasting etc. We are looking for integrating ATutor with Dell NAS content server in order to manage the content. We will need version control for contents, is it possible??

    Regards,
    Nilesh

    Re: Remote Content Server

Look at the ePresense module for broadcasting

Version control is available in the File Storage, but otherwise it is not available for other content.
