  Hello. I'm trying to install the Announcement_subscription module and I've got it downloaded and everything. Upon install it tells me to make the "add_news.php" writeable. I've done that by chmodding it to 777, but it still won't work.
  
  Is there another way I can get the module installed?
  
  
  Sorry, but I'm new at this and I don't know a whole lot of other info. about the specs. listed below.
  
  I use Webstrike for web hosting.

  hia, I believe the module is outdated, as we reworked it as a patch. see:

  admins: could you remove the module from the module listing?
  
  and also: will you include this patch in 1.6.2?

  I tried the patch myself on 1.6.2, but could not get it to work, so set it aside. Do you have an updated version Vegard? .

  hia, no sorry I don't have an updated version for this, and will not get one before after the 1.6.2 release either :/
