I just installed ATutor and have been playing around with it. Everything seems to work fine (finally!) except I don't get any drop down boxes to set assignment start and end dates. I can see the boxes, but they are "grayed out" and I can't change them. I even have a "test student" enrolled in the class. Any idea what the problem could be? The course is "active."

Did you click on the date radio button next to the date selectors?

Yes. They are grayed out. I can click on the radio button, but I am unable to change the actual dates.

My guess then it is a browser problem. Try a different one.

That did the trick. Now I feel stupid. :) Thanks, though. I'm making the move from Moodle to ATutor (backwards, maybe, I know) and am relearning a lot of stuff... I appreciate your help.

Out of curiosity, what browser and version was giving you the problem?

Google Chrome. Which is no surprise... It is full of issues and is in Beta stage (though I do like the browser, for the most part, so far). I should have known better. I used Firefox from my work computer today and it was fine. My version of IE works at home, but not Firefox. I think my Firefox browser at home needs to be reinstalled; have been having a lot of issues with it. Thanks.
