Branding atutor

    Branding atutor

    I'd like to brand atutor.

I am aware that the config.inc.php file contains 2 variables which I can modify:
    HEADER_IMAGE
    HEADER_LOGO

That is fine, but the 2 images are used before you LOGIN.

I am thinking if I can add my own image in the default footer on each content course page. This currently shows the Atutor logo, and next to it, the text that says "Web site engine's code is copyright 2001-2004 ATutor. About ATutor. For general help with using the ATutor system see the official ATutor HowTo course."

I'd like to add a logo of my own organization that hosts the course. Is this considered fair game or is this frowned upon?

Also, I welcome any ideas about branding that others have used.

    Thanks

    Peter

    Additional comment

I know about the Optional Course Footer and the Optional Copyright Notice.

But, adding stuff there will further reduce the amount of precious screen real estate for actual course contents.

So, I am thinking to adding my own image in the space of the ATutor logo and copy right notice.

    Copyright must remain intact

You can change the logo, but as a condition of the GPL the copyright notice must remain intact. You can remove the ATutor HowTo line if you want.

Adding your own copyright notice using the header/footer editor should have no affect on "real estate" since it appears after your content and can be a single line of text.
