    Problems upgrading from 155

    Hello.

    I have Atutor 1.5.5 installed and running. I just downloaded 1.6 and followed the Upgrading instructions, I renamed the old folder and uploaded the new files, however when I try to go to the new install: www.mysite.com/ATutor I get an Internal Server Error. I'm totally clueless of what the problem can be. Hopefully you can give me some clue.

    My server is running:

    Apache 1.3.37
    PHP 4.4.4
    MySQL 4.1.22-standard

    So, as far as I can tell I have the necessary requirements.

    There really can be a thousand reasons for that.

    Look at the web server error log, /var/log/httpd/error.log (I suppose it's Linux).

    You should be able to locate the problem there, and read the explanation: usually it's quite clear to give a clue.

    Solved!

    Thanks a lot, it was just like you said, the error log described the error. It happened because some files and folders were writable by others. I changed permissions and I could complete the upgrade with no more trouble.
