  language variable error

  I installed ATutor, but have a problem apparently with the language variable. On the login page I get
  
  [ Variable: error]
  [AT_ERROR_NO_LANGUAGE]
  
  This kind of variable error show on all pages. When I go to the admin page, click on the (apparent) language link and press the "set" button, it clears and shows english. But when I logout and log back in, I have the same problem.
  
  Seems to be, as I said, a language variable problem, but my probe of the config files and the data tables does not find the problem.
  
  Please advise! Thanks!

  Set default lang to English

  I'm guessing you've set the initial default language to something other than English when you installed. In include/config.inc.php set the value of DEFAULT_LANGUAGE to "en". After you have ATutor running correctly, then import other languages and reset the default language to one of those languages.
