    Re: edit the footer

    copyright lines in:
    /include/html/copyright.inc.php

help page links, comment the guide lines in:
    include/lib/menu_pages.php

Don't know what you mean by stystem preferences link. That is an admin link that you can not manage without.

Keep in mind that when you upgrade in the future, the edits you make will be lost. You may want to document them somewhere, and/or create a patch for the patcher module (to be released soon) to re-apply your changes after upgrading.

    Re: edit the footer

Edit language using the admin's language manager. All language can be managed from there.

    Re: edit the footer

I'm not sure why you would want to remove that. It is an admin feature, and a fairly critical one. Can you explain what you are trying to do.

    Re: edit the footer

How about the "For guidance on using atutor see the official" and also editing the ATutuor Handbook. Thanks.

    Re: edit the footer

Moreover, where is the admin language manager?

  • 2011-08-17 07:29:51

    Re: edit the footer

I suggest reading the Languages section of the Administrator Handbook.

Changing the language of the exported content

I've delved into the language manager to edit the "For general help with using the ATutor system see the official ATutor Handbook" in the downloaded zip content and I could not find anything similar. Pls where could the editing be?

  • 2011-08-18 10:01:14

Re: Changing the language of the exported content

What downloaded zip content are you talking about? "For general help..." is not in the ATutor language.

Have you found the Language Editor? You enter words for the language you want to edit in the ATutor system language, and possible translation items will appear below.

If you want to edit content, that's done using the instructor's content editor.

  • 2011-08-18 11:03:09

Re: Changing the language of the exported content

What I mean is that, after a user must have downloaded a particular content using the export button, it comes in a zipped file. You will have to extract it and open the index.html before you can read the contents offline. After opening, at the base you see the atutor logo and the "For general help with using the ATutor system see the official ATutor Handbook". I am now asking how one can edit that particular sentence. I hope I made myself clear now?

  • 2011-08-18 11:44:46

Re: Changing the language of the exported content

Ah! Good, you found some hard coded language. It's in:
    _core/imscp/include/footer.html

We'll fix that for the next release.

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

When a message is sent to an e-mail address, you see at the footer "Sent via an ATutor system at http:...
ATutor home: http://atutor.ca. Please how can that be edited? Thanks for your initial help.

  • 2011-08-19 13:29:18

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Edit using the Administrator's Language Editor. Except for language in the Handbook, all ATutor language is edited there (except where the odd hard-coded language may have been missed).

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

    Thanks Greg!

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Now there is this one...at the footer of the received message, it is located after the atutor Home: http://atutor.ca. I want to change the url to point to another directory. I know that is not in the language manager anyway.

  • 2011-08-19 15:08:59

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Not sure what you mean "after the atutor Home..."

  • 2011-08-19 15:49:55

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Okay, when I decide to send a message to you through atutor, you will see this after the message..."Sent via an ATutor system at" followed by my website url. The last couple of words would be Atutor home: http://atutor.ca. All that can be edited using the language manager. But this particular url http://atutor.ca at the last portion of the received message can't be edited using the language manager. It should be in one of the directories, just that I don't know which one.

  • 2011-08-19 16:07:41

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Where is your ATutor installation located?

That URL is generated based on the location of the ATutor installation. You cannot edit it.

  • 2011-08-19 20:18:36

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

I tried testing it on my colleague's installation it is still the same. It seems you dont get what im talking about. The directory where Atutor was installed will vary based on the location. However, the atutor.ca url will remain there at the bottom whenever you view the sent message. I guess the code might look like this <ahref ''http://atutor.ca''></a> in a file in the web directory.

  • 2011-08-20 04:29:24

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Where could that code be located in my web folder?

  • 2011-08-20 08:00:35

Re: Changing the language of sent messages

Found what you're talking about at:

    Editing Languages

Now this one, When an Instructor creates a test with added questions; he wants it to reflect at the gradebook manager. He now clicks on add test/assignment tab. Once the test/assignment has been added, it reflects on the gradebook. On the gradebook page, you have Name, GradeScale and Type. Now under type we have "Atutor Test or "Atutor Assignment". Now how do I edit that. I tried using the language manager but its not there. I open the directory ... /mods/_standard/gradebook/gradebook_test.php to edit it but it complained that it is not found. Will appreciate any help rendered.

  • 2011-08-25 09:02:44

    Re: Editing Languages

    Find the language token:

    add_atutor_test

  • 2011-08-25 11:04:10

    Re: Editing Languages

The language token: 'add_atutor_test' will only edit the heading that contains 'add atutor Assignments/Tests/Survey'. The 'type' column that will display the kind of gradebook whether it is (atutor assignments or atutor tests)is what I need to edit.
    Thanks.

  • 2011-08-25 11:56:43

    Re: Editing Languages

Found it. There's some hard coded language in
    mods/_standard/gradebook/gradebook_add_tests.php

I've reported it to the bug tracker. Hopefully we can get this fixed before the next release.

Note however, if you intended on changing it, you'll also need to change SELECT statement further down in the file to search for whatever token you insert there. A little messy coding there from someone.

  • 2011-08-25 13:57:31

    Re: Editing Languages

Well it is still the same thing. I actually considered 3 files in the gradebook directory. They are gradebook_add_tests.php, gradebook_edit_tests.php and gradebook_tests.php. I tried to change anything that has to do with "Atutor Test" and "Atutor Assignments" but it still tells me Gradebook not found each time I tamper with the gradebook_tests.php. I have changed the SELECT statement in the gradebook_add_tests.php but it is still the same thing.
Although no matter the changes I make in the other files apart from gradebook_tests.php will effect no changes but when I try to edit the gradebook_tests.php it will tell me not found.
I will attach the exact page I'm talking about here.

  • 2011-08-25 15:08:26

    Re: Editing Languages

That would be how I would expect it to behave. It's not as simple as just replacing the language strings. Part of the code needs to be rewritten, which we'll get to when we can.

In the meantime you are welcome to experiment on your own. If you do come up with a solution, you could create a patch and send it to us. That might increase the chances of getting the fit into the coming release.

  • 2011-08-25 15:46:25

    Re: Editing Languages

Okay...I will try and study the codes later then, will have to revert the changes I've made to my site so as to avoid future contradictions. Thanks for your time anyway.

    Changing font colours

Hi, been a while. I just uploaded a classroom pics in the atutor default 2.02 theme on my website and I discovered that the font color of my website is exactly the same as the image I just uploaded. I want to know how I can change the font color of my website probably to white.

  • 2011-09-06 08:46:42

    Re: Changing font colours

In the theme's directory, edit styles.css.

  • 2011-09-06 12:05:49

    Re: Changing font colours

Yeah, that only changes the website's font colour when logged in but the same color font for the website remains when you are logged out. I also want to know the css that changes the "Administration, "Start Page" e.t.c just below the website.

  • 2011-09-06 12:51:41

    Re: Changing font colours

All styles are controlled in the .css files in whichever theme happens to be displayed.

My guess is you have a theme other than the default set as the system's default theme.

You might disable alternative themes your changes to appear everywhere, using the admin's theme manager Or create your own theme. Seems the theme designer documentation with the ATutor Handbook

    Re: Changing font colours

I'd also suggest creating a new thread when you want to discuss a topic other than the one in the original message subject line. This thread is becoming too long with too many different topics
