    Cannot Login

Hi, I'm am using the latest version off the website and clean installing onto a clean host.
The install works perfectly but when I go to login afterwards no user/pass combinations work. I can register for a new account but logging in with that new account doesn't work.

    Here is link
    http://blinghunter.com/lms/ATutor/login.php
    and link to phpinfo()
    http://blinghunter.com/lms/ATutor/test.php

    Thanks in advanced

    Re: Cannot Login

I have this evening, downloaded and installed ATutor "Latest Stable Version
Download ATutor ATutor 1.6 Download! (2.7 MB TGZ)".

After a little while setting it up and changing the theme to default1.5 I logged out of my admin account to login as a standard user.

I couldn't login with either account anymore.

I've tried using the lost password tool for both accounts. It didn't work. I tried using the redux fix, didn't work. Changed the theme back to the original via the DB. Now I can log in as standard user although my password is stored as plain text in the database, but I cannot log in as admin and to make matters worse, the lost password tool says no user with my email address exists.

I tried changing my pass in the data base to plain text, or sha1. I tried changing my email address. No luck.

I don't know what's going on with this system but it obviously has some fundamental flaws if the encryption is supposed to be written into the theme and keeps getting missed.

Whatever the problem is please don't tell me to reinstall.

    I'm running PHP 4.4.8 and MySQL version: 4.1.22 with phpMyAdmin - 2.11.4

    Re: Cannot Login

Changing the theme back again allowed me to login as admin.

But my passwords are still stored as plain text in the database.

    Re: Cannot Login

It is a problem with encrytion, and a bug in the theme. You should replace the two default themes with fresh copies downloaded from atutor.ca

    http://www.atutor.ca/atutor/themes/index.php

You'll need to change he password back to sha1 after replacing the themes.

    Re: Cannot Login

I have downloaded default and default15, deleted the originals completed and uploaded the new ones to my server.

With default I can login as admin, but not with my user account (even if I create a new one).

With default15 I can't login as either admin or a user.

    Re: Cannot Login

Strange... I posted twice and lost it ^ that was a test.

Right I need to explain what is going on better:

    1. Created a new user through admin panel
    > password appears as plain text in DB
    > can't login
    > change to SHA1
    > can't login still

    2. Registered new user
    > password appears as plain text in DB
    > can login!

    > Changed 1's password back to plain text
    > Can login!!!

What on earth is going on???

All using the new version of default theme!
