    154 Cannot override file

    hi,

just successfully installed Atutor 1.5.4, but when I tried to upload a profile pictiure I got the following error:

    "The following errors occurred:
    * Cannot override file."

    ..any ideas? permission problems?

    best, vjo

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

Did you upload it a second time? The first must be deleted before the second with the same name can be uploaded.

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

no, this was the first time I tried to do it after the install. I get the same error both as user and as administrator, and renaming the picture doesn't help either.

this did work on the beta version on the same server, which was a fresh install, not an upgrade.

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

I am unable to reproduce this.

What are the details of the machine ATutor is running on?

Permissions maybe, but they adopt the persmissions from the content directory when it gets its permissions set. Look in the content/profile_pictures directory and see what it contains.

Is php compiled with GD, and what type of image are you uploading?

Is the system's /tmp directory writable (it should be by default).

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

the server is our production server, and has the recommended settings.

tried some more. I am able to upload and change pictures on 1.5.4 RC1 and 1.5.4 beta on the same server, which both were fresh installs.

php is compiled with GD, and it was a jpg.

the content directory is not in the atutor directory, but in a different directory at root level on the server (same level as the atutor dir), and is called atutor-innhold/

within that directory there was no folder called profile_pictures, but I created it and chmodded it to 755 (and 777) - still no luck though.

the tmp/ directory is most probably fine, as all other uploads work.

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

oh, and for the RC1 install the content directory is within the atutor directory, and correctly contains the profile_pictures folder with subfolders.

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

It still seems to be working ok for me when the content dir gets created outside. And the profile_picture, and other directories are all created.

Can you send me a phpinfo dump.

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

I'm pretty sure you are, but I'll ask anyway, did you download a fresh copy of 1.5.4 with the installer fix? The installer was not creating the content subdirectories.

sure, downloaded a fresh one today, which would be about 7 hours ago.

    see mail for phpinfo

    Re: 154: Cannot override file

fixed this by manually adding the directories "originals" and "thumbs" in the (manually added) "profile_pictures" dir, and chmodding them all to 755
